What are we doing to ensure the safety of staff, members and the community to protect against the Coronavirus (COVID 19)?

At this difficult time, Health Care Insurance remains committed to delivering the best customer service possible. To minimise the likelihood of staff, members and the wider community contracting and spreading the Coronavirus (COVID-19), our Burnie Member Service Centre will be closed from 1 April 2020. Face-to-face services will be unavailable until further notice. We understand that not being able to access our Member Service Centre may be frustrating and an inconvenience, but we will continue to ensure the availability of services.

When will face-to-face services resume?

We are closely following all advice provided by the Prime Minister and both the Federal and State Health Departments. At this stage, the advice is that we should limit face-to-face interactions to stop the long term spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We will reopen when the advice from the Prime Minster and both the Federal and State Health Departments deem it safe to do so.

In the meantime we will ensure you can continue to make payments, claims and access our services. Should you be facing financial uncertainty or want to make sure you're covered and payments are up to date contact us today.

How to make a claim?

If you wish to lodge a claim you can

  • or via the Smart Phone App

We understand that not being able to access our Member Care Centre maybe frustrating and an inconvenience but we will continue to ensure the availability of the above services.

Claims Box

If you normally make a claim at the Member Service Centre we will be providing a Claims Box located outside the centre at 25 Cattley Street, Burnie. From here you can safely and securely lodge your claims for processing.

Steps to use the Claims box

  • Download, complete and print our claim from
  • Submit at our Claims Box located outside the centre at 25 Cattley Street, Burnie
  • Sit back a relax and we’ll send payment to your nominated account by electronic funds transfer.

Please note: For security purposes this service is not for cash or cheque payments.

How to make a payment?

If you normally pay in person and want to make alternative payment arrangements, you can choose to pay by the following methods:

  • Direct Debit
  • BPAY
  • Cheque
  • Credit Card via phone call
  • Online

What if I dont use any of the above methods, what should I do?

If you are unable to pay by one of the above methods, please call our friendly customer service staff on 1800 804 950 and we will discuss alternative arrangements with you.
