Effective from 1 September 2022, HCi will allow eligible adult children with disabilities to remain on an HCi family policy with their parents, even beyond age 32.
We’re delighted to once again be among the first private health insurers in Australia to introduce this additional dependant type for our members.
Who is eligible?
An eligible dependent person with a disability is required to be the child (including an adult child) of an HCi member (or of the member’s partner), and can include a step child or adopted child. The dependant must be aged 18 years of age or over, be primarily reliant on the HCi member for maintenance and support, and be participating in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and hold an active NDIS Plan. They do not have to reside with the HCi member and they are not excluded if they have a spouse of their own.
If your child isn’t an eligible dependant for HCi family cover, they will need to take out their own cover. HCi has a great range of products to suit a range of cover needs.
