HCi is committed to providing members with access to the best medical care possible. This includes private hospital arrangements which represent the highest quality care and best value for money. We have over 500 agreements across Australia.
However, from 16 March 2026, our current hospital agreement with Macquarie Hospital Services (MHS) and IPHOA hospitals will terminate at their request. This affects 11 hospitals are across Victoria and NSW (see list below). It is important to understand the implications of using one of these hospitals after the agreement ends.
What you need to know about this hospital agreement ending
Unfortunately, MHS and IPHOA’s termination of this agreement means you will likely have out-of-pocket expenses for any treatment at their hospitals. Transitional arrangements will apply to HCi members with any pre-booked hospital procedures.
If you expect to require treatment at a Macquarie or IPHOA hospital, especially after 16 March 2026, please discuss this with your surgeon/specialist. This ensures you know the additional costs of using this hospital, relative to alternative hospitals in your area.
You can ask if your surgeon can perform your surgery in another hospital which has an agreement with HCi, to minimise additional out of pocket costs.
