OMS access update
Please note that for increased security, these OMS upgrades require you to register for OMS even if you have registered previously. We apologise for any inconvenience. However, it is required to ensure a high level of security for your personal and health information.
To register (or re-register) for OMS, you will need to provide your
- member number
- personal and family name
- date of birth
- email address (as recorded in your membership profile).
Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
All OMS logins must use MFA for security. This means when you log in, you will receive a one-time code via SMS on your phone. Then you must enter that code into OMS.
Thus, you will be prompted to provide your mobile number the first time you login.
Personal information
It is important to keep your personal information safe. Remember that providing information and documents via email is not fully secure.
Once logged into OMS, you are in a secure environment where it is safe to
- update banking and payment details
- update your address and other contact details
- submit documents such as ID documents, Medicare data, completed forms, medical reports and birth certificates
New! OMS upgrades – personal logins for dependants
As per member requests, each person on a membership can now have their own personal login.
For the policy holder member, nothing changes and you can still see all relevant information about your membership.
However, your dependants aged 16 plus can now log in using their own password and MFA codes. We must have their personal email address on file before they can register online with their member number. The system will not allow any email address to be used by more than one person. Email address can be provided by calling us, chatting online with us, or emailing us.
Using their personal login, your dependants can only see their own claims history, limits and information. They can submit claims within OMS, too.
An authorised partner may see some additional details – see our authorisation factsheet for details.
New! OMS upgrades – Medicare rebate management
Members can now register to get the private health insurance rebate as deductions or adjust their rebate tier within OMS!
To register for the premium deductions, you will need Medicare and income details for everyone listed on the policy. Then simply:
- Log into OMS
- Click on the arrow beside ‘Membership’ in the left menu
- Select ‘Government rebate’
- click the ‘apply now’ button if you haven’t yet registered for the reduced premiums
- click on the edit icon beside ‘income tier’ to adjust your tier
The level of the rebate depends on your annual income. OMS now allows you to adjust which income tier you belong to.
New! OMS upgrades – Dependant management
Adult dependants other than your spouse can only stay on your cover under certain conditions.
Therefore, if your dependant’s circumstances change, eg they stop full time study or get married, you need to let us know. OMS will request updates as your dependant(s) reaches certain milestones, such as turning 23.
- Log into OMS
- Click on the arrow beside ‘Membership’ in the left menu
- Select ‘People covered’
- Click on the name of the dependant to be updated
- Note the current expiry date and follow any instructions
We will still send annual reminders to confirm your dependants’ status, but the process will be much quicker for you now!
Enhanced details of your cover
OMS now includes more information regarding what is covered on your hospital cover. This applies to all dependants with a personal login.
Simply click on ‘your cover’ in the membership menu to see which clinical categories are Included, Restricted or Excluded from your cover.
